Let’s talk about stress and how stress shows up & materialises on our body & skin, I saw a story by @maya_skinstory the other day talking about how hard Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW) is and dealing with stress can be especially with our adrenal gland all out of whack & how some flares can directly be linked to emotions and thoughts.
This is something I’ve always struggled with since going into TSW I’ve found myself getting even more overwhelmed and anxious feeling like my body is under a constant fight or flight mode that then links directly to my poor body.
This is something I’ve been trying so hard to work on for a while but some days are easier than others and it can get the best of me during the day.
Breathing techniques have helped a lot but any other tips and techniques to stop the stress itch there always welcomed❤️
Happy Thursday I hope everyone is enjoying a lil sun ☀️

WHAT IS Topical Steroid Withdrawal???
Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW) is an iatrogenic condition, meaning it is caused by medication.
TSW is not a psychological addiction, but a physical, systemic dependency on the synthetic cortisol hormone which is absorbed when topical steroids are rubbed into the skin.
Topical steroids are anti‑inflammatory prescription creams commonly used to treat skin conditions such as eczema.
On top of our Eczema/Psorasis causing us stress and all the other things listed above.
The very medicine prescribed to treat our skin is now giving us more stress, like do you feel guilty when you apply steroids because of knowing what TSW is? What if I get TSW!? That’s opened a whole new level of stress for us Itchy Bitchez.
