My petition: Fund research into Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW) – provide training & support :https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/658458/sponsors/new?token=OJCo8SlYb_FfSvXC_YT5

The ITV News report states that ‘1 in 10 will have adverse effects’, this means 10% of those using. Meaning there is still 90% of people who are okay… What’s not okay is awareness without action/ support from GOV, it’s been like 4 years since we all really started to make some noise. TOO LONG.
THE STAT⚡️We understand that not everyone experiences TSW, but if they mention that 10% are ‘susceptible,’ we need to delve into the origins of this statistic. We need transparency on where it came from, who was surveyed, and how many participants were involved. Knowledge is key to understanding.
MENTAL HEALTH impact🧠The very creams prescribed to help us heal are causing us stress and damage. Constant questions circle our heads like ‘Will I get TSW’ There is also this guilt culture surrounding steroid use and often the what-ifs leave more anxieties and stress than help.
Not everyone who uses topical steroids will develop TSWS. It is unclear why some people experience TSWS after using topical steroids and why others do not. This underpins the need for more research to unravel this issue and provide better support for those affected.
MISCONCEPTION🚫 A lot of people label TSW sufferers as people who misused their steroids. I want to make it clear – you can do everything right and still get TSW and you can do everything wrong and not get it…

MY MAIN POINTS 🔍It’s crucial to acknowledge that not everyone who uses topical steroids will go through TSW. This is why we need more research on topical steroid withdrawal, not only to support current sufferers but also to prevent potential future cases.
We must also remember not to judge or bully each other for choosing different methods than your own for managing their skin conditions. Their body, their choice…
