Didn’t think I’d be posting another of these so soon 🥺 Swipe to heal ❤️‍🩹 ➡️

5 weeks after my horrendous allergy face flare, I had another. Legit only giving me a few weeks between each because I spent most of that time healing and then feeling and looking the best I had this year.

After my flare, I really thought I’d turned a corner. I got overconfident, dyed my hair a bold color, and truly thought I was going to end the year with the best skin ever.

But sadly, my body had other plans for me. Allergic reactions are the worst. They come on suddenly, very quickly, and within a matter of hours, they turn you into someone you don’t recognize. Somehow, I found this allergy flare easier. I knew what would work because I legit only healed the last one a few weeks prior. I activated my self-care/skincare action plan and got on with it.

I headed into work on day 1, 2 and 3, and I didn’t let this flare stop me from carrying out a work project I’d put months of planning into. I showed up, head held high, and decided to allow my déjà vu from last month’s flare to guide me.

This time, instead of becoming complacent with my skin as it was returning to normal, I decided to inquire about allergy testing privately, as well as changing my doctors and pushing to go back to dermatology again. This flare pushed me to make tough decisions and try to help future me avoid the same situation. I’ve also started a food diary, let’s go fiiigggureee thiissss trigggeeerrr

p.s. this last few weeks really hasn’t been kind to me but I am soo proud of how I am handling it all. Past me would be spiralling instead of healing and dealing!
