“Healing is weird. Some days you’re okay and you’re doing fine, other days it still hurts like it’s fresh. It’s a process with no definitive time frame. You just have to keep going and know that when it’s all said and done, you’re going to be okay.”
Reminder, this is my personal experience everyone is different and sadly what works for one doesn’t always work for another especially when it’s allergy triggered! LETS HIT IT ⬇️
On a different note, healing my eczema allergy flares within 7-10 days has become a skill. It’s bittersweet, having mastered the art of healing through these. Now to master the art of never having them again?🤣🥺
But at the same time I’ve always learned that it truly is going to be okay and I know I’ll heal which is such a comfort! And helps settle the what ifs!!
So, how do I do it? ⬇️
🌱I start to clean and eat (like I already do but start being extra watchful). I make myself a good old bone broth, tastes banging, and legit every sip feels like it’s healing! ❤️🩹 I try eat more of a Mediterranean diet, Check out @healthline articles for insights on this!
☕️ I cut back on caffeine/anything that spikes blood pressure and recently decided to opt for @trip.drinks CBD during flares (use mackiesmoments20 for 20% off) find they calm my mind and reduce physical discomfort/ itching!
Just generally being more mindful about eating too much bad food! It’s all about balance! Simply make a conscious effort to eat more beneficial foods for healing. Balance is key; no need for drastic changes that add stress. Follow @theeczemacoach for helpful ideas!!
I also started taking @zooki collagen supplements to help my skin heal! Love all Zookis supplements! I am honestly taking like 8 supplements a day, L-Lysine 1000mg helps with collage production “A good dose of L-Lysine can speed up the process and help any wounds to heal faster.” and Milk Thistle Extract 100mg has lots of anti-inflammatory benefits both from @hollandandbarrett!
Also, I religiously take my prescription antihistamine 180mg Fenofexadine when I have these allergies/ very inflamed reactions. Honestly watch the inflation dramatically reduce after taking just 1! For comfort sleeping DR told me its okay to take Piriton Syrup alongside these for better sleep.
SKINCARE
💦 @renskincare EVERCALM RANGE is my go-to during flares, especially the Balm, Masque, and Oil.
🌟 @epadermuk CREAM + OINTMENT are essentials, especially for extra dry areas like eyes and upper lip.
🌹 @byoma Hydrating mist spray provides instant comfort and hydration between routines.
AFTER a few days I switch to lighter/ more medium-weight creams like @theordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + PhytoCeramides (obsessed with this!!!)
🐄 @moogooskincareuk’s Udder Cream is a must for hands and body moisture.
🌿 @balmonds_skincare Omega Rich Cleansing Oil is my favorite cleanser (use KM20 for 20% off).
Deodorants? Roll-ons only! Mitchum Unscented and @wildrefill (code MACKIESMOMENTS for 20% off wild).
WASH
🚿 @westlabsalts Dead Sea Bath & Shower Gel is the only body wash my skin loves during any flare.
🌾 @aveenoukire Daily Moisture+ Oat Milk Blend Shampoo & Conditioners are essentials for my wash routine.
Reminder wash routines are super important as the product 1). lathers in your hands and 2). runs down your whole body!
TAKE IT EASY, lots of sleep, rest and cosy clothes!! ICE BLOCKS ARE BAE XOXO
