I’m still pinching myself that I got to share parts of my eczema story on @bbcwomanshour this morning. 🙌
Being invited by Kylie Pentelow alongside Chloe (@itchscratchrepeat) and Dr Tess McPherson was such an honour—and proof that our voices really do matter. From midnight A&E visits to national radio, eczema isn’t just “a bit of dry skin.” It’s a daily journey, and every time we speak up, we push back against the stigma.
🙏💖Great to have TSW broadcasted on such a big platform, @itchscratchrepeat did stunningly and I have never been prouder to see a fellow itchy bish advocating so passionately !!
Thank you to everyone who’s reached out with kind words today. 💙 If you’re listening in, know that your story counts—and together, we can turn years‑long NHS waits and isolation into community, understanding, and change.
WHAT A WEEK!!! 🌟
I hope my journey shows that caring for eczema isn’t just about creams and routines—it’s about mental health, perspective, and knowing you’re NOT ALONE!• Mental health matters. • Connection heals. • Self‑talk empowers.
I started small—catching myself thinking “At least my eczema isn’t on my X, Y, or Z”—and those tiny reframes grew into a bigger mindset shift. Instead of hiding, I reclaimed my narrative. My favourite quote I’ve ever written?
“We can’t always control our [skin condition], but we can control how we react to it. That is our power.”
